BACK IN CO
Redlands-
The team is starting to come together, we had Scott M in the leaders jersey for 2 days, we had Scott Nydam in the kOM jersey for 2 days. The Scotts tied in kom points with Moninger taking the tie breaker and the overall king of the mt Jersey. We fought hard all weekend to keep the scott in the leaders jersey, and even though we came up short, it was a big step up for BMC. It will be nice to be home for a few weeks, and start getting rested and ready for Georgia on the 16th.

Back with the boys

Scott N and I at Tour Of Utah 2006-
Redlands-
I'm getting really excited about Redlands this weekend. BMC is coming off a great weekend, with the guys killing it at San Dimas Stage race. The Ice Man taking home the victory and Scott, Ian, and David in the top 10 Overall. I was up north at the quad knoff NRC race TT/crit. Jackson and I got 11th and 12th in the TT. I was happy with my race, I made some improvements, but I still have some work to do to get where i want to be. The Crit on Sunday, was fast and with Toyota United on the front early it was hard to do what we wanted to do. Jackson was 6th and Dan was 9th. The Redlands crew, all seem to be on form and we are looking to have a great race Starting with the tt on Thursday.
News flash- We got into Georgia, Yes! It's still up in the Air if I'm doing it or not. I will keep you posted.
Hope all is well.

Time to have fun!
Training for and racing the Tour of California, was a great experience. However, Looking back on my experience, I think I kind of forgot something along the way. Fun!! I was so caught in in doing well and having a huge result at California, and I put so much pressure on my self to perform and ride well for my self and for BMC. I was so preoccupied with pressure, I didn't even take a moment to look where I was. I mean, I was racing in the Tour of California. I was riding with the best riders in the world, guys I watched every summer On OLN racing the Tour and I was a Part of that. I think about How many people I know, who would have loved to be in my shoes, and up until now i wasn't awere of what this has all ment and how lucky I' am to be a professional bike racer. A year ago, I was a no name with huge aspirations racing for team Einsteins. I was Having the time of my life. Something I need to get back to.
Have Fun,
Jonathan

NEW blog
A Friend told me I need to write a blog, so all my friends and family can see what I'm up too. I said I would never do a blog, but I was thinking that it's not that bad of and idea. So here goes...
I have been home now for about 2 weeks and it feels really nice to be back at home with Leora. California was getting old and since the weather has been so nice in Boulder since I have been home, it's the icing on the cake.
The TOC was a great experience. From a team standpoint it wasn't our best week of racing. With most of the guys getting sick throughout the week and guys not riding there best, it was kind of frustrating. A lot of the guys, Myself included had big expectations going into the race. We trained so hard since Nov and with BMC being a new team we wanted to come out with a bang. Even though results didn't show a great week, looking back there were a lot of positives.
Top 10 Positives....
1. I was a part of the biggest/hardest race ever on American sole.
2. I learned how to go back to the team car efficiently, and bring bottles to the guys.
3. I learned how to work for the guys, bringing them to the front and keeping them out of the wind.
4. - Recovery is a must, I can't be standing around with not enough cloths on in the cold. Next time I need to stay in bed.
5. Training and preparation leading up to the race. Next year I'm planning on doing things a lot different.
6. During a race, there needs to be a reason to do something, no need to waste energy on something that doesn't help you or the team.
7. I made it through my first Pro Tour race. Next time, I will know what to expect and race better.
8. For 8 days, I hung out with the best riders in the world. O YEAH!!
9. I road near 700 miles during the week. Great training.
10. Leora, Bob and Marie were there to share it with me. We had a great time!
Next week I head back out the California, for the start of this seasons NRC races with San Dimas starting next weekend, and Red lands Stage race the Following weekend. Looking forward to Kicking some ass!! This weekend I'm doing Stazio on Sun in Boulder @ 1pm.
I hope you all are doing well,
J
